Scope & Inclusions
DKT Digital, St Peter Port, Guernsey GY1 · [email protected]
DRAFT — pending legal review, not binding. This document has not been reviewed by a solicitor. It is published so you can read our terms before you talk to us, and so we can be held to what it says — but it is a working draft, not a vetted contract, and nothing here is legal advice. A binding version will be issued for signature only once it has been through legal review. If you are relying on any part of it, ask us and we will tell you where it stands.
What each tier includes, what it does not, and exactly what triggers an additional charge. Nothing chargeable happens without written agreement first.

1. The tiers
Monthly retainer, cancel with 30 days' notice (see Offboarding). Setup fee is a one-off at the start (see §4).
| Tier | Monthly | One-off setup | Built for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | £399/mo | £750 | One core automation + a weekly report + email support. Foot in the door. |
| Growth | £799/mo | £1,250 | Up to 5 automations + lead-gen + light content + weekly report. The core retainer. |
| Scale | £1,499/mo | £2,000 | Broad automation coverage + full lead-gen + daily reporting + a monthly strategy call. |
Prices exclude any third-party costs the client bears directly (see §5).
2. What's included in every tier
- Discovery of the process(es) to automate.
- Build, test, and go-live of the agreed automations.
- Monitoring and alerting (issues usually caught before the client sees them — see Service Level Agreement).
- Support within the stated window and response times (Service Level Agreement).
- The client portal (their own data, fail-closed).
- Your data exportable at any time; full handover on offboarding (Offboarding).
- Nightly backups with an encrypted off-site copy, and a tested restore path (Security Overview §5).
3. What's excluded / out of scope (unless separately agreed)
- Building automations beyond the tier's count/scope (Starter = 1 core automation, etc.).
- Bespoke software development beyond workflow automation (custom apps, mobile apps).
- Paid advertising spend and ad management.
- Content strategy / large content volumes beyond the tier's light content allowance.
- Migrating or cleaning large/messy historical datasets beyond the initial agreed import.
- Third-party subscription costs (see §5).
- Anything not written into the agreed scope document at the start.
4. What triggers an additional charge, and how scope changes are handled
Additional charges apply when:
- You ask for automations beyond your tier's count/scope — either move up a tier or pay a one-off build fee (quoted before any work starts).
- A one-off piece of work is requested (e.g. a data-migration project, a bespoke report).
- A third party you use changes in a way that needs significant rebuild (quoted first).
How scope changes are handled:
- You request a change.
- We confirm in writing whether it's within your current tier or needs a tier change / a one-off quote — before doing the work. No surprise invoices.
- On your written go-ahead, we schedule and build it.
Nothing chargeable happens without written agreement first.
5. Third-party costs the client bears
DKT Digital's fee is for building and running the automations. Some automations rely on the client's own accounts with third parties, and those subscriptions are the client's cost, in the client's name:
- The client's own Xero / QuickBooks (accounting) seat, if used.
- The client's own HubSpot / CRM seat, if used.
- The client's own Calendly / booking plan, if a paid tier is needed.
- SMS (via Twilio) is usage-based; if SMS reminders are enabled, the per-message cost is passed through or billed separately (email has no such cost). [Confirm the billing mechanism with the solicitor.]
Email sending, hosting, monitoring, and the automation engine are included in the DKT fee — the client does not pay for those separately.
Note: the DKT fee is flat for what's in scope — no per-automation-run or per-email surcharge. The only variable client cost is genuinely usage-priced third parties like SMS.
6. Founding-client terms (clients 1–3)
To launch with real proof, the first three clients get special terms:
- Free setup (the £750–£2,000 setup fee is waived) in exchange for:
- a testimonial,
- permission to use their results as a case study (anonymised or named, by agreement),
- and a 90-day feedback call.
- The monthly retainer still applies at the normal tier price.
- This is the only difference: founding clients pay the same monthly fee, and get the same service and SLA — they trade the setup fee for a testimonial and case-study permission.
From client 4 onward, the setup fee applies (£750 / £1,250 / £2,000 by tier).
The doing-the-highest-value-work-for-free problem (discovery, migration, integration) is exactly what the setup fee corrects from client 4. Founding clients are a deliberate, time-limited exception to build proof — not the standing model.
Permission-to-quote clause — DRAFT for the solicitor to review
⚠️ FLAGGED FOR THE TERMS OF SERVICE / DPA. This clause must be in the signed terms (especially for founding clients) so results and quotes can lawfully be published. Draft wording, not final:
*"The Client grants DKT Digital permission to reference the Client as a customer and to publish the measurable outcomes of the engagement (e.g. time saved, cost saved, revenue supported) as a case study and testimonial. The Client may choose whether they are named or anonymised, and DKT Digital will share any quote attributed to the Client for approval before publication. This permission survives the end of the engagement for material created during it, and may be withdrawn for future publication on written notice."*
The measurement that feeds this is already built and proven: the onboarding baseline (admin hours/week and cost/hour), the accumulating savings record, the Day-90 review that assembles the before→after numbers automatically, and the owner Outcome Dashboard that totals real results as they land. So a founding client's first real result becomes a case study automatically, not retrospectively — the machine is built and currently empty (no invented results).
